Our Process

Chatting About Your Ideas

When you first reach out, we start with a short qualification call to get a sense of your project goals. Then, we follow up with an on-site consultation so we can see your space firsthand and what you’re imagining for it. At this stage, we’re focused on intent, not numbers.

To help us assess feasibility in Ottawa, we ask for a few key details: photos and measurements (if available), a rough budget range, your priority list (must-haves vs. nice-to-haves), target timeline, and property details like age, structure type, and occupancy. Once we gather this information, we can evaluate zoning, structural, and budget realities before moving forward.

Design & Planning

The Blueprint Stage

Once the vision is clear, we move into design and planning. Greenlight Renovation offers both in-house design services and collaboration with vetted external designers or engineers, depending on the project’s scale.

We manage all the technical and regulatory requirements, including Ontario Building Code compliance, Ottawa-specific zoning review, permit applications, ESA coordination, and structural engineering if required. Before construction begins, you receive a detailed written scope of work, an itemized estimate, a payment schedule, a project timeline, and all material selections documented and approved. Nothing starts without full agreement.

Build & Construction

Making It Happen

Every project is assigned a dedicated project manager who oversees scheduling, trades, inspections, material deliveries, and quality control. The homeowner stays involved at milestone stages and during the final walkthrough.

Clients are kept up to date through daily or weekly progress reports, scheduled site meetings at key phases, and direct communication with the project manager. Any change orders are documented, priced, and approved before execution.
